Tomato Paste
Tomato paste adds a rich, concentrated burst of umami that makes this dip taste deeply savory—like a Bloody Mary without the glass. It’s made by slow-cooking tomatoes until all the sweetness and acidity are perfectly balanced. Not only does it give body and color to the dip, but it also ensures every bite has that familiar tomato-forward flavor you’d expect from the cocktail itself.
Worcestershire Sauce
A classic Bloody Mary ingredient, Worcestershire sauce is the secret behind that irresistible depth. With its blend of vinegar, molasses, anchovies, tamarind, and spices, it enhances the creaminess of the dip while adding just the right amount of salty tang. It’s what transforms this dish from a simple tomato-cream spread into something with real complexity and savoriness.

Recipe Origin / Inspiration
The Bloody Mary Dip was born out of pure brunch inspiration. We wanted to capture the essence of one of the world’s most beloved cocktails—the Bloody Mary—but give it a creamy, shareable twist. Instead of sipping it from a glass, why not spread it on toast?

This dip takes all the bold, briny, spicy notes of the drink—tomato, hot sauce, lemon, Worcestershire, and even that iconic olive garnish—and brings them together in a rich, indulgent appetizer. It’s the perfect conversation starter for brunch gatherings, weekend parties, or even a night in with your favorite snacks and a cold drink.

Tips, Serving Suggestions, and Storage Advice

Chill the dip for at least 1 hour before serving for the best flavor and texture.
Don’t skip the bacon resting time—cooling it ensures it becomes perfectly crisp and easy to chop.
Add more hot sauce if you prefer a spicier kick.
For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for half the mayonnaise.
Try topping with a sprinkle of smoked paprika for a smoky finish.
Serve with garlic-rubbed baguette slices, pita chips, celery sticks, or cucumber rounds.
Garnish with extra olives and a lemon wedge for that true “Bloody Mary bar” vibe.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Make it a party platter: serve the dip surrounded by bacon strips, cherry tomatoes, and skewered olives.
For a smoky depth, use roasted tomato paste or fire-roasted tomatoes instead.

Bloody Mary Dip

Ingredients
3 slices bacon
2 tsp Montreal steak seasoning
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, cubed and at room temperature
¼ cup mayonnaise
3 Tbsp tomato paste
2 ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp celery salt
½ lemon, zested and juiced
1 ½ tsp hot sauce (such as Frank’s Red Hot)
2 pimento-stuffed green cocktail olives, quartered lengthwise (and stuffing chopped)
Toasted baguette slices rubbed with garlic, for serving
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a baking rack on top.
Lay bacon slices on the rack in a single layer. Sprinkle with half of the Montreal steak seasoning.
Bake for 15 minutes, then flip the bacon and sprinkle with the remaining seasoning. Continue baking for another 12 minutes, or until crisp.
Remove from oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes before finely chopping. Set aside.
In a food processor, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and celery salt. Process until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
Add lemon zest, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Pulse until just combined.
Transfer the dip to a shallow serving bowl and gently fold in most of the chopped bacon, reserving a pinch for garnish.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight, to allow flavors to blend.
Before serving, top with olives, chopped pimento stuffing, and the reserved bacon.
Serve with garlic-toasted baguette slices, crackers, or fresh veggies.
Optional: If not using garlic toast, add a pinch of garlic powder to the dip for extra flavor.
