A Cozy Slice of Wine Country in Columbus: Our Visit to Napa Kitchen & Bar

There’s something special about discovering a restaurant that instantly makes you feel comfortable, welcomed, and a little transported—and that’s exactly how our recent visit to Napa Kitchen & Bar in Columbus, Ohio (Easton Town Center) felt. Inspired by the relaxed elegance of Napa Valley wine country, Napa Kitchen & Bar brings together rustic charm, thoughtful design, and a made-from-scratch menu that celebrates bold flavors and carefully curated pairings. Napa Kitchen & Bar’s Easton location is especially notable for its two wood-burning ovens, which anchor the heart of the restaurant and serve as the foundation for their wood-fired pizzas made with house-crafted artisan dough. The menu is intentionally designed to pair beautifully with their impressive beverage program—featuring 30 wines by the glass, specialty craft cocktails, draft beer, and a variety of alcohol-free options. It’s the kind of place where every detail feels considered, yet nothing feels stuffy—inviting guests to relax, sip, and enjoy.

First Impressions & The Vibe

Walking in on a Tuesday afternoon around 2pm, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and promptly taken to our table. Almost immediately, we found ourselves captivated by the interior. The space is layered with texture and charm—soft, twinkling lights strung across the ceiling, natural wood elements, artistic details lining brick walls, and thoughtfully placed décor that feels rustic yet refined. The lighting is especially beautiful, casting a warm glow that makes the space feel cozy and intimate without being dark.

Service That Sets the Tone

Our experience was made even better by our waitress, Hannah, who was incredibly friendly, personable, and attentive from start to finish. She immediately made us feel at ease, walking us through the menu and offering thoughtful recommendations. To kick things off, she suggested a lovely white wine that was bright, refreshing, and the perfect way to ease into our afternoon. Her service was genuine and polished—never rushed, always present—and she took wonderful care of us throughout the entire meal.

Appetizers That Impress

We started with two appetizers, and honestly, choosing just two was difficult.

Fried calamari topped with yellow peppers and parsley, served with a lemon wedge and dipping sauce in a blue bowl. Vibrant and appetizing.

Fork holding fried calamari over a plate with colorful peppers and herbs in the background. Blurred setting adds a cozy dining mood.

The Crispy Calamari arrived golden and perfectly fried, with a light, crisp coating that didn’t overpower the tender calamari inside. The addition of teardrop and banana peppers brought a subtle heat and tang that kept each bite interesting, while the lemon aioli added a creamy, citrusy finish that tied everything together beautifully. It was bright, flavorful, and dangerously snackable—the kind of appetizer you keep reaching for without even realizing it.

Next, we shared the Truffled Mushroom Bruschetta, and this one truly stole the show. Creamy goat cheese provided a tangy base, layered with roasted mushrooms that delivered deep, earthy flavor. The melted Havarti cheese added richness, while the white truffle oil elevated the dish with just the right amount of luxurious aroma. Served on a perfectly grilled baguette, each bite was warm, savory, and indulgent without being heavy. This is a must-order for mushroom lovers.

Comfort in a Bowl: Entrées We Loved

Close-up of French onion soup topped with melted cheese and parsley in a bowl on a white plate, with a black napkin and spoon.

For our entrées, we leaned fully into comfort food—and Napa Kitchen & Bar delivered in the best way possible.

The French Onion Soup was everything you hope it will be and more. Rich, deeply flavored broth with tender onions set the stage for an unforgettable cheese moment. The provolone and parmesan-crusted top was gloriously melted, stretching endlessly with each spoonful—yes, we captured that iconic cheese pull, and it was as ooey, gooey, and delicious as it sounds. Paired with crostini, this soup was warm, savory, and incredibly satisfying.

We also enjoyed the Tomato Basil Bisque, a smooth and comforting bowl of classic flavor done right. The tomato base was rich and slightly sweet, balanced beautifully by fresh basil. A dollop of crème fraîche added a creamy tang, while the crostini provided just the right amount of texture. It was cozy, flavorful, and perfect for a relaxed afternoon meal.
